Hi again,
Today, I went back to work again. So, in my little free time, I would like to share my experience during the Hari Raya .
I had Qurban activity on the second day of Hari Raya Qurban. I choose to had 1 "tompok" (share ). Not enough money for 1 cow. We arrived at the Qurban site ( tempat sembelih lembu ) at nearly 8.00 a.m. The Qurban activity already start and a lot of people gathering at the site. We went near the bangsal (cow-shed, barn whatever) and kept thinking who's turn now? How to know when is my turn? Looking all around the area but still cannot find any name list or any sign which could answer my doubt. Helppppppppppppp!
Then , another cow going to Qurban (slaugther?!) and one of the organizer member (Maybe Taukey / chief) start shouting "no. 2 , masuk " (no.2 came in). What? What the h**l is no.2? How to know and why this people (a group of makcik pakcik enters the barn) know they were no.2 . Maybe its better to ask the Taukey for our Qurban number. I thinked its useless to wait for any clue.
We went to face the Taukey and asked politely to him; how we going to know our number? Where could we find the list? How we going to know it is our turn or not? Then he opened his diary ( note book ? ) and showed the "Qurban list". Also he explained that at the time, they did the Qurban for a Family and for "Tompok" (group / sharing) , only start after finish "family qurban". Ohh.. I see. Then the taukey said our "tompok" is no.2 and for today only have 3 "tompok". OK, what ever.
*The same problem happens to another 2 or 3 person and they also followed us to see the Taukey.
Just after leave the taukey and went to see the Qurban activity, one pakcik (old man) met the Taukey and said "younger people don't know how the qurban activity and that's why they kept complaining. They don't even know their number". Opssss, what old man? How to know the number if keep it in the diary and during payment made, only asking for the name. Further more, they didn't even inform us the number.
Now we already know the number and waited for our turn. Hope we didn't miss our turn!
But still thanks to the organizer as they prepared breakfast for all of us. A delicious meat (cow) soup, rice, rendang etc with hot coffee was on the table.
Note: Sometime people assume you know the rule and it's up to you how to deal with it!
